Overview

The Korean Society of Costume was established in 1975 by costume scholars. Currently, there are 4,947 members and four departments, consisting of 1) History of Costume, 2) Aesthetics·Fashion Design, 3) Fashion Marketing · Psychology, and 4) Clothing Construction · Textiles ·General Costume.

Domestic and international symposiums are held twice a year, with topics related to the costume studies and the fashion industry as well as to promote academic exchange among scholars. Through such efforts, solutions to challenges in the industry are sought, which further contributes to the development of the fashion industry.
